About Us

"An antivirus program must be both comprehensive and simple at the same time. It must be clear and understandable; it should not be the master and decide what is best for me. Ideal software ergonomics are much closer with TrustPort Antivirus 2009."

TrustPort Antivirus now on 64-bit systems

TrustPort has introduced another new version of its product TrustPort Antivirus intended for use on 32-bit and 64-bit Windows operating systems. The manufacturer is taking into account the increasing spread of computers with multiple processors, and also processors with multi cores amongst users.

The new version brings in the case of computers with dual-core, quad-core, or multiple core processors, a significant increase in performance when scanning on-demand. The software is up to 40 % faster, compared to the previous version of TrustPort Antivirus, on multi core processors as well as on multi processors. The actual difference in speed depends on the access speed of the medium being scanned.

TrustPort in the development of its antivirus solution is consistently directing towards higher scanning speeds and greater user comfort. "Our goal is to continually increase security levels, which our products offer traditionally, yet reducing the burden on the computer," says Marcela Parolkova, head of Sales Department at TrustPort.

Improved on-demand scanning speed is not the only novelty. The previous version of TrustPort Antivirus allowed the user to specify which file types during their opening should not be scanned. The new version of the software ignores this setting in the case of executable files, and it always performs a scan, meaning the risk of activating malicious codes is further reduced.

The new version has also been added with proactive detection of malware in the system registry. "Malware often masks its presence in the registry in such a way, so it can attack the operations that read from the registry. It is also able to filter out the items that would reveal it," explains Petr Vanek, head of the Development department at TrustPort. "The new version of our antivirus does not allow malware to mask itself in such a way."

Already in previous versions TrustPort Antivirus scanned the so called alternate data streams, basically the hidden parts of files which are used for storing additional file information. The program now also scans the alternate data streams of folders, which are often exploited to store malicious codes. Therefore the program is now able to detect some very dangerous viruses.

Adding to user’s comfort is the fact that the same installation file can be used on both 32 bit and 64 bit systems. Basically the file automatically recognizes the operating system, and adapts the installation accordingly. TrustPort Antivirus is compatible with Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Vista. It is also ready for the arrival of the new Windows 7 operating system.
