TrustPort Antivirus successful in proactive detection
The August versions of antivirus products were used for the tests. Their proactive detection capability was tested on viruses that have been discovered during a period of one week and one month after the last update of these versions. This thus excluded the possibility that some malicious codes would be found through the means of classical viral databases.
TrustPort Antivirus was able to detect a high percentage of malicious codes on the basis of the structure and behavior of the heuristic analysis, 50% of viruses from one week and 49% of viruses in one month. It achieved particularly well in the heuristic detection of classical viruses (58%), worms (59%) and backdoors (64%). It again confirmed the fact that it belong amongst the top antivirus manufacturers.
However, detection capabilities based on heuristic methods are not the only elements in a solid antivirus solution. "If the program is kept up-to-date, it will be able to detect more viruses," notes Andreas Clementi of AV-Comparatives about the test results. "Some products may have the ability to detect samples for example during start up or when using other monitoring instruments."
TrustPort Antivirus allows you to use up to five regularly updated scanning engines and is constantly ready for all current threats. In the last AV-Comparative test (classical scanning), it discovered 97.2% of malicious codes and ranked amongst the top five products.
The award-winning antivirus is also part of the comprehensive security package TrustPort PC Security. That in addition to antivirus and antispyware, also brings antispam, firewall and tools for the secure and confidential communication. Both of these solutions are on the market in new versions, with many new features.
