TrustPort Management - new version 2.0

In these days a new version of TrustPort Management 2.0 has been released. Compared to the previous version, there have been significant steps forward; let’s have a look at the most important new developments:

  • Central management is now able to manage all modules contained within the TrustPort PC Security package.
  • Installation of central management clients (agents onto the stations) is now possible remotely with the help of the “push” method. This means without the need of direct contact from the administrator onto the clients stations.
  • The searching for stations within the network is possible with the help of the following methods: directly by the IP address, exploring the network, detection with the help of “ping”, with the aid of control connection, and also combining it with “ping”.
  • After installation stations are now automatically registered to central management without the need of authorization from the network administrator. This function can be switched off and administrator can then be assigned to confirm.
  • It is possible to promote each station to a so called Superagent, which means that the selected station can distribute virus samples to other stations in the area. This effectively spreads the work load throughout more stations.
  • A technique called “time-shaking” has been created whose main task will be the following - to make sure that there is no overload of synchronization demands during compulsory or planned synchronization between server and stations.
  • The operating console has been adjusted and is now more user-friendly including the assignment of tasks and commands, meaning that the central management is now more effective.
