TrustPort Net Gateway 5.3 has arrived
TrustPort is introducing a brand new version of TrustPort Net Gateway, the award winning security solution designed for computer networks. This comprehensive solution monitors all mail and web traffic between an internal network and the internet, and allows the systematic elimination of risks such as viruses, spyware and spam. It also looks after the authorization of users, which is a must for security when remotely accessing a computer network.
The new version, TrustPort Gateway 5.3, marks a further move towards a greater clarity of the user interface, and includes important technological innovations. The goal of the changes is to simplify the work for the network administrator, and to improve the efficiency for the carrying out of his tasks.
In terms of administration, the unification of logs related to web traffic is worth mentioning. This is connected with a more advanced generation of graphical statistics. Once the statistics of the web traffic are ready, they can be viewed in relation to the current month or year, or if needed they can be viewed for the entire period of program usage. On the basis of these statistics, the network administrator may analyze user behavior and identify possible problems.
A very useful innovation is global logs of web traffic. This tool is very useful in situations where traffic does not enable the use of a single internet gateway, so it is necessary to combine statistics from multiple servers. Global logs for mail traffic have already been introduced in the previous version.
TrustPort Net Gateway 5.3 also features another sophisticated method to eliminate spam, namely the blocking of suspicious nodes. "With this method, the message itself is not received, but rather assessed based on connection characteristics and information about the outbound domain," describes Petr Vaněk, Director of TrustPort Development Department. "This way, we can identify suspicious senders and prevent up to two thirds of spam." This further reduces unnecessary data transmission.
Other innovations include advanced settings for the sending of notifications for messages discarded as spam, or the control of text notifications about undelivered email messages.
Customers using previous versions of TrustPort Net Gateway can upgrade to the new version for free. The installation package will recognize the previously installed version, and seamlessly adopt current settings.
