Timestamp authority is a service which allows the demonstration that at certain time, a particular digital document existed, and that it was electronically signed at that time. The aim of this service is to ensure document incontestability given to a particular time. Requirements with this aim are sent to a credible third party in a specified format, which is already defined by the relevant international standards.
