TrustPort Data Shredder uses several methods of shredding, which one should I use?

The right choice depends on the sensitivity of the data in question. The methods differ by the number of shredding cycles. The more sensitive data you wish to shred, the more thorough method you should choose. For example, the Quick method performs 1 shredding cycle, making it the fastest and the weakest, however sufficient for the most common needs. On the other hand, the Peter Gutmann method performs 35 shredding cycles, making it the slowest and the strongest, suitable for shredding of the most sensitive data. As a reasonable compromise, we recommend the TrustPort method, performing 3 shredding cycles.
